Neighborhood-wide Meeting – Monday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. Location: Columbia Presbyterian Church sanctuary. Come to the FHNA fall meeting to hear the latest updates on neighborhood activities. Meet and socialize with neighbors; light refreshments will be provided. Pumpkin Carving Contest in the greenspace – Friday, October 30 at 7 p.m. Take out your carving knives and spook your neighbors with your creative pumpkins! Winners will be chosen for Most Creative, Scariest, and for the Kids… Best Painted Pumpkin. Bring your finished pumpkins to the greenspace at 7:00 p.m. We will announce the winners around 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions, contact Mark at mjmalkovsky@gmail.com.
Halloween Caravan – Saturday, October 31 at 5:30 p.m. Join the annual neighborhood caravan where families trick-or-treat door-to door en masse. If you are on the route – stock up on candy! The caravan continues to grow each year. The caravan will start at 2866 Wiltshire Dr. where neighbors Michael and Elise will host a front yard gathering but if you miss the kick-off you can join up anywhere along the way

Ready to get YOUR spook on? FHNA Halloween Decorating Contest Bring out the ghosts and goblins for our second annual Forrest Hills “best decorated” Halloween house! Two winning homes will be selected this year –one by the judges and one by the neighbors- and announced on October 30 ‘Mischief Night’. To be a judge, contact coordinator and Halloween enthusiast, Michael David Ash Sharbaugh at knowmale@comcast.net.
Chili Cook-off Fundraiser – Sunday, November 8 Neighbors cook up their best chili to compete for first prize; through blind taste-testing, attendees vote on the finalists! Hosted by the Pawlicki’s at 993 N. Carter Rd. Details on how to enter the cook-off will be announced on facebook and the listserv. Contact: Mark at mjmalkovsky@gmail.com
FHNA Holiday Progressive – Saturday, December 12 The much loved Holiday Progressive kicks the holiday season into full swing with open house style parties. Parties are potluck so hosts are only responsible for opening their doors to guests. We are looking for a volunteer to coordinate and volunteers to host the appetizers and dessert rounds. Potluck sign-ups for appetizers and desserts will be on google docs and posted online closer to the event. Contact: Elaina Ouimet at eouimet2003@yahoo.com.
